Dual enrollment refers to high school students simultaneously enrolled in a dual enrollment program at an NC community college. Through Career & College Promise (CCP), qualified high-school-age students in North Carolina can take community college classes, tuition free, while they are in high school.

CCP provides three pathways:

  • College Transfer provides tuition-free course credits toward an Associate in Arts or Associate in Science that will transfer seamlessly to any public or participating private college or university.
  • Technical Careers provides tuition-free course credits toward a job credential, certificate, or diploma in a technical careers.
  • Innovative High Schools allow students to begin earning tuition-free college credits as a high-school student by attending an approved Cooperative Innovative High School.
